We are the students of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s IME 556 class titled Technological Project Management.  Many of us are either graduate or undergraduate engineering students.  Our professor, Dr. Roya Javadpour, solicited and interviewed several economically disadvantaged families from the Central Coast community.  One of the deserving families with a home project compatible with the scope and goals of the class was selected for the quarter long project. 

We are very pleased to be giving back to our community with this service project.  The local senior citizen couple that we will be working with has been dealing with the challenges of disabilities for several years.  Our goal is to increase the couple’s standard of living by remodeling the home’s flooring, bathroom, paint, electrical, and shelving.
